Singapore’s main shopping street, mainly popular for its fashion stores. You can spend your days shopping, sustained by the food served in the best food courts. ION Orchard focuses on high street fashion on its low floors; for haute couture, move upstairs. If you are looking for some reasonably priced high street brands like Muji and Uniqlo; it is popular with young shoppers. Ngee Ann City has lots of international brands. Takashimaya Food Village, a food court that is a part of the Japanese department store serves delicious food. Paragon is where fashionistas shop for their Jimmy Choo footwear, threads by Burberry and Hermes, and elegant wear by Raoul label. If you like Asian art, carvings, and ornaments, the retro Tanglin Shopping Centre is a must-stop.

National Gallery in Singapore

Raffles Hotel

This lavish colonial-style hotel has a history dating back since 1887 and has become one of the most significant landmarks in Singapore. The guest lists include Queen Elizabeth II, Elizabeth Taylor, and the late King of Pop, and Michael Jackson.

The Raffles Hotel features around 103 suites and 18 distinct bars and restaurants along with an arcade with more than 40 stores and boutiques. Many come for Raffles Bar experience and you can be for sure to enjoy the best Singapore Sling in the town. After all, it was invented here and they have had nearly 1000 years of experience in making them.

S.E.A. Aquarium

It is the world’s largest aquarium, with 49 marine habitats and more than 100, 000 sea creatures. Part of Sentosa Island attractions, this stat-of-the-art aquarium is a great journey through the diverse marine habitats of the world. Enter through shark tunnel, with silvertip, hammerheads, and sandbar sharks swimming over your head. Learn about the watery environments of Lake Malawi, kelp forests and coastal mangroves. One of the most unearthly and beautiful exhibits is Ocean Journet, with eerily-lit jellyfishes, spider crabs, and immense deep-sea octopus. The huge, 36m long, 8.3 m high Open ocean tank is a show-stopper. It brings you face to face with sharks, barracuda, stingrays, and several other huge open water fish. Children will love The Discovery Touch Pool and Daily feedings. Do not miss the second underwater tunnel, with fishes darting in and out of shipwreck, and learn more about the Maritime Heritage of Asia at the on-site Maritime Experiential Museum.  

Try Kayak fishing

This is one of the popular leisure activities to do in Singapore. As the name indicates, it mixes the fun of paddling a kayak with the excitement and skill of trying to catch fishes. Kayak Fishing Fever provides three itineraries, covering various distances: The Playground, Island Hopper, Big Boat Small Boat. You will be glad to know that fishes caught during the tours are released into the sea as a part of the catch and release practice of the company. Every tour has about 4 people, with a dedicated guide. Rather than using a regular kayak paddle, the boats of the company are Hobie Kayaks, which are leg-powered, so be ready for some peddling. They provide all the equipment, so just bring sunblock and hat to safeguard your eyes from the rays. Kids are welcome, but those who are aged 12 and below must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem kayak for safety reasons. The tours start at 7 am, but during other timings, special arrangements can also be made.
